Finally got to put the new Hydro Glow bowfishing LED lights to the test. We used the 90 degree cone and the 120 degree cone with 30 watts @ 12 volts. I have to say I ran all four lights off of a trolling motor battery for 6.5 hrs with no dimming. I have the video coming soon .... I just haven't had time to edit it up yet. Those buffs sure look good under that "clean" light:applause:

They don't throw light like my metal halides. In the video you will see what I mean. these that I tested will give you plenty of shooting out to ten yds from the boat. The only thing is the bank is not lit all up . I figure they actually light up almost as much fishable water. The only thing that you would loose out on is the long distance sight fishing (finning).

who did you go through for those lights?
I'm actually working with Hydro Glow Inc. in getting a bowfishing model available. I have got some 50 watt versions of the same lights coming next week. The 12 volt models are supposedly drawing 2.5 amps and the 50 watters at 24 volts are drawing 2 amps. I believe the 50 watts are going to be unreal!

Throw a HAWGLITE on your bow and you would have it made then! you can pick up the FINNING fish with the MARAUDER! Great lookin pics! i like that setup!!

How much do these lights cost?
Not a set price yet... I will say they HAVE A HEAVY DUTY HOUSING AND I EXPECT NOT CHEAP. However, if you consider not having a $3000 Honda Generator and replacing $20 bulbs all the time, it will look pretty good if they are reasonable.

Well for me that would be a $299 Champion, but point taken. I'm presently in the process of setting up some other led's to give em a try.

Some led's pushing higher watts would be the cats azz, as long as they are affordable. I can't wait to sell one of my two Champions but a used Champion probably ain't gonna buy to many of them thar lights.

what reflector did you like the most the 90 degree or the 120 degree?
I like the 120 degree. I am going to see how the 90 degree 50 watters do. I am thinking of running 50 watt 90 degree's on the front (for help navigating and finning fish) and run the 120 degrees on the sides. I will post up more when I get thru testing the bigger wattage models. I know they will be alot more expensive than halo's but no generator, fuel, and noise will all factor into seeing the value of LEDS.
