im running 8 halos, 6 300w and 2 500w now,with a champion 4000/3500 genny,which by the chart that was a sticky on the old site im running a 80% load.

if I go to the 150 hps with the npf how much will I lower my amps?

I know the hpfs are better but im broke....lol

Just get the hps and dump the halos and dont worry about amps... you got enough genny

YOUR GENNY SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF RUNNING 33 AMPS. SO FIGURE 5 AMPS (GIVE OR TAKE) PER LIGHT AT START UP. 80% OFF 33 = 26.4AMPS. YOU COULD RUN 5 150 HPS LIGHTS W/O CAPS AND START THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME. OF COURSE AMP DRAW WILL LOWER AS THEY WARM UP. BUT...... IF YOU RUN 150S WITH CAPS YOU CAN SAFELY RUN 8 150S AND PLUG EM ALL IN AT THE SAME TIME. 8 X 3 AMPS = 24 AMPS. 8 X 150 WATTS = 12000.
