Ok... So i finally started drink'n the koolaid.. And went over to a buddies house to shoot through a chronograph.. Well I have my osprey which is fairly new considering it's in swamp assassin.. And marked 35-55 pounds and a short.. So we put it on the scale and maxed out it's only at 45 pounds!! What the F**k?? The whole reason I bought this thing was for more penetration.. The fastest it ever shot was 125fps but averaged between 115-120 fairly consistently.. What kind of bullchit is this?? You buy a bow and it's 10 pounds less than it reads on the sticker when maxed out!! That's not cool.. Am I missing something here?? And speed wise it's about the same as the mission craze or menace.. Where's this hard hitting power everybody talks about?? Speed is speed and I don't care if it's a skippy bow.. If it shoots the same speed as an oneida then you're goin to get the same penetration!! For $500 plus dollars why is this son of a ***** not shooting 55 pounds?? I do have some 50-70 pound power limbs.. Is it safe to put these on a cast riser osprey and shoot 60#'s?? Is this the only way I'm going to get the performance I'm looking for?? Sure it's smooth and looks cool but who cares if it won't perform!!!

op:... My osprey only maxes out at 45 lbs also ... marked 35-55 on tag .. 30-50 on the box... but its a fish sticking S.O.B... and as far as let off making you shoot bad... :cf: .. I shoot 65% let off and have no desire to change it... it sticks fish just fine... I can snap shoot it fine... It penetrates fine... I have a discovery 2 also.. and its maxed out and shoots fine... had a cuda that shoots fine...none any better because of no let off... KY you are right on one thing.. if it says 55lbs on the bow .... it should hit 55 lbs... as far as the speed and all that... I dont know what mine hits on a chrono but it will blow through a bighead and thats the only test that i need... cya tonight dude and we will try to stick some bigheads... stop worrying about specs... and lets kill chit!

Lol. Wow all this over a used Bow? Funny how it took 5 pages for it to come out. If it's used how do you know somerging hasn't been changed? Limbs, cables, etc. I could go on like the rest on how I shoot 26# and drag in 60-70 pound bigheads but that's not the point. If it was ten at night I think I could have held off till today and called Oneida and b!tched about my used bow to them. I'm sure it's fixed now with all the replys.

:groan: hmm... no you are not reading this correctly... All I am saying is that either the no let of bow or my 65% osprey, both shoot as accuratly for ME. I was refering to hooptys posts about not being able to hit crap with hi poundage and let off .... but TTG you take things how you want man! I am not starting an arguement... just stating that no matter the poundage or the let off I can shoot fine with both... and that KY needs to just stop worring and go killing!:co:

My osprey is marked 55 also but will only go to 49. I guess it dont bother me cause I shoot around 40. I do see what your sayin KY cause if I bought a new 70 lb huntin bow and it would only go to 60 I would be pizzed. With my osprey I knew that Id prally wouldnt max it out any way, so it dont matter to me.

yep, same arrow speed and same arrow weight= same kinetic energy. dont care if you throw it or shoot it out of a cannon

·your first problem was shooting it through a chrono. Anyone who shoots any bowfishing setup through a chrono needs another hobby. Arrow speed is not that important when fishing, there are not too many times that you have to worry about the fish ducking the arrow @ 30-40 yards... LOL
your second problem is that it sounds like you have not tried it out on the water yet. Yea I know it should go up to 55 pounds, guess they stuck the wrong lable on there, but I bet if you try it out on some real fish, you will probably find out that you dont need that 55 pounds...
but if you just cant handle the Koolaid, maybe you ought to sell it and buy a Fire Eagle or sumthing, Dont those things max out at 60-65 pounds? haha
Seriously, Call JOneida, his knowlege of lever bows is far superior to ours, he can tell you exactly whats going on with your bow, and just may have the parts you need to get it where you want it.
If you end up swapping the power limbs out, and those are in fact 25-45 pound limbs, I call dibs on them!

Dont worry TTG... you can always pizzz me off. Its just that everything you said is backed by FACT! why the heck do you come on a forum spouting FACT about kinetic energy?????????? Everyone knows if you throw an arrow 120fps it wont stick as deep as if you shot it 120fps from a lever bow. Dumb azz!
