I made this to mount my 70lb transom mount trolling motor. Everything is 3/16" aluminum. The base plate is welded to the boat rail on two sides and has a plate in the back welded to the deck. The L bracket bolts on with 6 5/16" bolts and is fully welded on the outside (no welds on the inside). Will this mount be strong enough? I am worried about the times you hit a stump dead on and it stops the boat in its tracks.

A 1648 mod-v Lowe. I just got it a couple weeks ago, trying to get it fixed up as fast as I can.

awesome looking welds man. looks like it will work

Ha ha I can't take credit for those, I dropped it off at the weld shop and thirty minutes later it had those good looking welds for $20.
