Yes totally worth it! You can save 40-50% on your first reload with new bought brass and 60-70% the second go around. The upfront cost isn't bad if you get what you NEED and upgrade as you go. I've reloaded about 1200 .45 acp I don't think there's any way I would buy that much of the shelf. Just bought 1000 5.56 brass I'm about to do.

And reloading is super simple, take your time and check and double check yourself and it will become second nature. Get a good reloading book (the hornady 8th or 9th edition is the best I've seen yet) and read the first 30 pages a few times and you'll be like a small ammo factory

Reloading is defiantly worth it. I shoot 223 and to buy factory ammo when the cheap stuff is on sale will run about 25-30 cents a round. I reload my own 55 grn load similar to factory loads for 5 cents a round.

It's also fun to tinker around with loads for your gun to see if you can make a good load even better.

Suprised no one mentioned its a good way to get away from the wife for a few hours. My wife will try to come out to the garage and talk to me but after a few minutes she gets bored and leaves

I have been handloading for about 8 years now. Making costom loads for each rifle is really cool. Check out ammosmith.com, they know as much about hand loading as these guys know about bowfishing. they also have about 50 how-to videos. Ammosmith is a must if your just getting started or you run into trouble, they will be able to anwser any questions you might have. Good luck

in my case i fell in love with the 357 remington maximum round a few years back to coinside with indiana case length laws on legal deer cartriges. after searching for ammo a few times i realized there just isnt anyting made anymore for serious perfomance. so i bought a friend a set of dies and introduced him to the round. 200gr hornadys and a respectable powder charge has really opened my eyes! its absolutly unbelieveable how much performance i gained. plan on getting another barrel to go on my encore soon.
just shootin from a 10" now. caint wait to see what its capable of from a 26"MGM

I've always been one of those fellas that has wanted to get into it... well last week all my gear came in and so far I love it. A lot cheaper, and also more rewarding. The .223 rounds I load are more accurate than any factory bought round I have ever used. I'm not a big time shooter as I only go thru about 50 223 rounds a week, but it adds up quick. I got the Laymans 49th edition book and there's a wealth of knowledge in there. Good luck and be safe!
