60 degrees and beautiful with ice all around what a weird January in colorado

The wife went out yesterday and shot 2 commons at Simpson in Loveland. Just a few spots of open H2O along the N shore!!

Killin carp in January is CRAZY!!

when i drove by there was only a tiny litte spot where a tree was cut. open water huh??? i know what ill be doing

She was also out at Big T ponds too and said the shore was open about a foot yesterday and after this nice weather today it should open a little more!!

Yuuuup, the big pond on the far north end, where they cut down all of the russian olives.

II was there this morning about 11 and there was about 150 yards about 3 feet wide there. Find a good open hole and wait for cruisers!!

I all most allways shoot my first carp of the year at the Big T ponds or the Simpson's.

Ya total Ice off wont be for a long time on the front range but you can always find pockets of open water. The past few years we have gotten the boat on the water somewhere in the month of February. Its a good time if you find the fish in the winter, they dont move much under the lights!

The weather around here is still cold,we got about 2 months yet before the ice goes by by.
