I have an 808 bowfisher im pretty sure it's trash but it's worth a shot asking. It will not hold line in rather I reel Till it clicks or not it still comes out. And when I shoot every time it catches and breaks the line. What is causin all this an can it be fixed? I have a muzzy I shoot all the time but if this 808 can be fixed I would like to put it on a bow for a back up.

not real sure what to tell u on what may be wrong but it kind of sounds like the line has not spooled right and binding up or ur pick up pins are not pulling in like they should. I hope someone will chime in with more knowledge on the subject. I am having some issues out of my lil cuz's 808 bowfisher right now as well and seems to be that the only response i can get is to junk it. But if i can fix something or rig it so it works im goin to instead of tossing it. If something happens and u decide to junk yours i would appreciate it if you would pm me on here or something before hand, cuz i would like to work out something to acquire it for parts. I might get lucky and manage to make one working reel from two instead of having to buy my lil cuz a new reel. I would appreciate it greatly, and apologize for not bein able to help more.

I got a 808 that did that also. I tappered the pins on the top side were they "suppose to be" flush with the spinning cap (only on the side were the line spools off). That let the line keep from catching on the little bit of the pins exposed. I've had no problems since. Also make sure the spinner is full of line, they don't do good unless they are full. IMO

Thanks for the info guys I'll try it out and see if it works. Doc if I can't get it to work I'll just give it to

I bet its user error…the 808 “bowfisher” comes spooled with chit line…take it all off…put 200lb fast flight line on there and fill the reel up all the way to the point it won’t reel anymore! Then soak it down with silicone spray! Guarantee u will be good to go.

I had a 808 bowfisher and had the same problem. Get the 888 pro staff, much better in my opinion. I got one earlier this year and haven't had any problems with it.
Man I had nothing but problems with a 808 bowfisher I had,. even after I put fast flight on it. I just picked up a 808 saltwater edition at academy the other week because i forgot a backup reel before I went out of town. Ill tell you that that saltwater model is nothing like the previous 808 that I and a bunch of people here hated. That little sumb is stout.
