I have hps and leds on the boat been next to a boat with led fished of a boat with the leds and yes they work but I prefer my 400s as well.

I like the warm seelites for bigheads...cool white reflects to much for me...they appear brighter but thoyght itwasnt good enouhh...I like my hps style...I think they make the bigheads stand out I guess each their own. I do lik e the leds for bigheads over the halogens flood setup.

Im thinking maybe having mine on the rail almost 3 foot off the water must be the reason for this im guessing . When i see hps cast farther im thinking dang how are these guys shooting fish so far away maybe thats not the reason you want them to cast so far . I would like to see hps lights in muddy water i figure if i cant see the troller in the water im not gonna see fish either maybe im wrong on that one .

If you started out with LEDs they'd be great. I just think we're spoiled. Went from 500w halos to 150hps now 400 hps. Each step has improved. Going back the halos were great until I upgraded. But can't go back now ;)

bwahahaha. im glad i stumbled upon this thread. a year or so ago when everybody was jumping on the led bandwagon, so many people on here made them sound like they were the best thing since sliced bread. the few folks that knew better were sitting back giggling watching all these poor "latest and greatest gurus" spend their money on souped up flashlights......

like "someone" said when the leds started taking off. "if you want to try them just wait a few months, when all these folks realize how much leds suck you will be able to pick up a set for cheap from all these folks stripping them off their boats and going back to hps." haha:laugh:

wont doubt that statement for a second...... bring those chinese leds here and you couldnt see a humpback whale if he was belly side up in 6 inches of water:laugh:

lol its funny that the secret has been out for awhile about the chinese LEDs, yet people still bring up the big names over here and say theyre better ROTFL... where do you think they came from the LED fairy in the U.S. ???? i can put a toyota sticker on a Ford...doesnt make it a Toyota...... all of the people that have thier Pride will still back the expensive lights that they WAY over paid for lmao some more....... another secrets right here..."Bowfishing Line" yea cause theres a lab somewhere and it was created specifically for us...yea rite...Google Kite String and look at all of the dacrons.....ooops some folks might get but hurt about that too....lol

Fished off hps and leds. I'll stick with my leds. Only time I have issues is if I can't see 6"s in the water and clearer water I can't shoot many fish outside the lights unless I get lucky but half the time the fish pull off being they were 50 feet away and didn't get much penetration.

x2 At the BPS open last year we could see carp laying on the bottom and the best we could do was bump them with an arrow once in awhile we might bring up a scale . My last setup was 24 225 ultra halos and i can tell you for certain my leds are way better than the halos were they put alot more light in the water and i can see fish alot better with leds .
