if u launch a airboat from lake hermitage,myrtle grove,port sulfer,empire,Buras,and Venice beaware there is a noise ordinance in affect. U must idle 2 miles from the launch u launched from and stay 2 miles from the levee that runs Parnell to hwy 23. This is at night. Just giving a heads up because there have been a couple of Bowfisherman who have received tickets for not abiding by the rules and regulations with there airboats. Just remember the 2 mile rule and there won't be any issues.

I said the same thing.well,it's either follow the law or get a ticket..the third time you get caught,you are done and can not launch anything. There are already a couple operations with 2 strikes against them. And guess what,they were warned at a meeting and I guess they just didn't get it.

I have not heard anything like that around Delacroix but if you come down there with a airboat you better have respect and idle out of the canal. They are cracking down on the airboat because when you put a idiot behind the driver seat a lot of them show no respect.

You said "noise ordinance" not a No Wake or 4mph correct ??? What DB is limit they are trying to stay under??? Would that include gennies or fan boat,mud motor or duel mud motor ???? Any noise in that area

just airboats. Nothing to do with any other boats. It is not based on a d.b. Limit. See what's happening is you have people that live along the levee's and the The Bowfisherman who are both fishing along the levees when they leave they just mash on it and it wakes everyone up. I have a lodge on the backside of the levee and when there is 8 to 15 airboats running around out there I can hear them easily from 2 to 3 miles away with no problem. Just put that into perspective and have them right up against the levee and you would understand why these people are getting so damn mad down here about it.When you get into these airboats you better have some kind of common senseas I know of someone who had all four tires cut on their truck and four tires cut on a trailerbecause of the lack of respect. It's was getting worse and worse but now Marine patrol has stepped in and is getting back to normal now.
