I have been searching and searching with no luck. Need some help. Thinking of adding a kicker motor to my new to me 16' boat. I have a 2000 Johnson 2 stroke 15hp tiller handle already in possession that I would be using if I could make it work. I've been looking at the push pull set-up as it appears easier understanding and cheaper to replace if something breaks. Need some help in explaining how to set it up. I have seen jpeaters builds and the pictures are good, but seem to be over my head in current knowledge. Thanks in advance!

Lol not plan on running WOT just a thought since it was what I already had from a boat I sold. Would I be better off selling this motor and getting something smaller? Also just added a 7'x5'10" steel deck so got some added weight.

The bad thing about the two stroke engines is they tend to foul plugs if you let them idle. Personally if it were me I'd sell it and look for a four stroke. I have a 9.9 for my 16' boat. Anything around a 6-9.9 will work good for you. What have you got for a main motor?

Just bought the boat last week and tried to get deck built and lights on just to get fishing. But it came with a 25hp mud buddy beavertail. Not the ideal motor for the boat but the deal I got I wasn't passing it up. @eshaw

I use a 9.9 2 stroke. No problem so far. Also a 9.9 gets you under the size restriction on some lakes.

How much would I be looking at estimate to set up a kicker with push pull? And is there a good how to thread? Like I said I've seen the pictures but still have a hard time putting it together.

Is a 20 hp motor to big for a kicker on a 20 ft Crestliner. Or do I need to go smaller
