QUESTION.... Has anyone ever setup a PUSH/PULL rig , with a motor that has the twist throttle handle that is used for throttle and changing to F-N-R? The pics arent to good that i will try to download. It looks like its more difficult than a motor with the shifter on the side of the motor..

I understand what your talking about, pm JpEater on here, he is a kicker wizard! We are currently setting up a kicker but it has the shifter on the side. Your probably gonna have to get into the guts of the shifter mechanism to figure out a remote shifter.

Hard to tell from the picture, but I bet I could rig up a "T" handle shift cable if it were in front of me:hb:

Just gonna have to make a bracket under the cowling to replace the cables.

i have a chance to buy this motor, but i dont know if its worth the trouble.. i still like the external shifter lever with the push pull cable attached to it like on the other motors. looks neat , and simple...decisions!

this is a pic of a different motor, but still the same. on the right of the pic, you can see how the two cables are both connected to the same (cam-pulley) for foward and reverse. then a tie rod-connecting arm goes from the center of the cam-pulley to the carb. It doesnt look like their will be alot of room left under there to put a shift cable after cowling goes back on...jmo

That was how my motor was that I set up. All I did was took all the pull and cable for the shifting out and made a pice of flat steel and ground it down to fit right on the shift rod. That way when I pulled up on my T handle it was going forward then all the way down was revers. It works good for me. I can text u pics if need some of what I'm talking about.
