Hey guys this is my first post here I've been reading forums on here for a while tho. I live in northern alabama (Roll Tide). I have a question about my 2070 aluminium boat. I have a 16 hp evinrude as the kicker and I know it's not suppose to turn on a dime but it's turning is horrible. Is impossible for us to turn and chase fish what's something we could do for sharper turning? The steering cable has a 7 inch travel

It's turning as far as the cable will let it if that's what you mean

You may need to change the location of the cable to the motor to get a different angle so you have more turning radius. Just a thought

I don't know a whole lot about kickers (setting up my first one now), but I believe the closer you mount the cable to the powerhead, the further the motor will turn.

this is the biggest thing that will help. You have to mount your cable right at the motor or you start loosing a lot of turn fast! you will get more turn one direction than the other but you should still be ok. I can turn on a dime to the left but not as good to the right. depends on the side your motor is mounted to.

look up multipliers and make one....drawback=tension on handle if you make it too big

Also make sure when in the water your big motor stays straight and doesn't turn sideways that will also mess you up

Mine turns like crap if I dont have my big motor completely out of the water.

I raise mine up where just the skew is on the water and does good.turns on a dime to the left but a little wide to the right. I just fish banks accordingly
