I got my new 15hp Tohatsu hung and ran it last night with a 9x7 3 blade. RPM sounded good at WOT, bottom end was a huge difference compared to the 9.9. When you grab a hand full of throttle, you definitely know it. I'm getting 7mph WOT, but as SCRiverrat said, it gets there quick. The fish definitely have a tougher time getting away from us. It gets up and goes when you want it to. I'm happy with that setup.
awesome. I ordered a 3 blade 9-1/4 diameter 7 pitch last night being that sounds like my best option. i think that will do the trick

Talked with our main hydraulic engineer here at my work, he did the math on the 4 vane prop with a 5 degree pitch vs the 3 vane prob with a 7 degree pitch both at a diameter of 8.7 He said the numbers look like the 3 vane prop should have more get up and go power than the 4 vane. Sorry I don't know the exact numbers he got.

from what i've figured that sounds right. biggest difference the 4 blade 5 pitch is actually a larger diameter also and would make it less effective than the 3 blade 7 pitch according to what i've found. I order a 3 blade 7 pitch and going to try it out

I had my first out on the new kicker rig last night! Made it into the triple digits. Was not at all impressed with how it did in the weeds however. I have a 4 blade 8.7 diameter 5 pitch on an 1872.

4 blades hate weeds. If you will change it to a 3 blade it will do alot better. If you run in weeds the majority of the night then a 2 blade is best, however, a 2 blade will sacrifice some stopping and reverse power.

I finally ran mine Friday night and it was amazing the difference. Still ran about 7mph top end and had plenty of low end power. Weeds didn't bother prop at all either

I just swapped from a 4 blade to a 3 blade as well with the same results. I was having to clear the 4 blade prop regularly from weeds. The 3 blade got me into areas covered in weeds that my troller would never get me even close to.
