I just build a kicker rig with a 9.9 merc on a 2072 boat. The 9.9 pushes the boat good but I am only getting about half throttle. My thoughts are that i dont have enough horse power to turn the prop full throttle. Anyone have any suggestions on prop size, pitch, 3 or 4 blade?

if your only getting half throttle try and see how you have it hooked up, the throttle cable may not be pushin it wide open.
and as for the prop, its not really gonna matter, within a yr you will practically need a new one if you are running it in very shallow water. its gonna eat the heck outta that prop. weve replaced 3 props in the past yr n a half.

My cable is pushing full throttle. I have been out 3 times and can already tell that i am getting more throttle from prop wear. I was thinking about putting a new prop on with a guard and was wondering what prop was best.
