The LEDs I see on Amazon list their operating range as 86v-265v. Will these lights work on 12v. And if so it looks like they have 3 wires. How would you hook them up

Chances are the ones you are looking at are AC (Alternating Current, i.e. Plug into the wall type). If you want to buy AC LED's then you will need to run a generator or run a converter from DC to AC.
cool white willl work better in clear water. If you want more information try using the search function. There's a thousand different threads on here about led choices, pros/cons, etc.
I would agree with the color choice. Like he said, do a search, tons of topics on LEDs.
