I suck at using the search tool so sorry for starting a new thread on this. I am new to having my own bowfishing boat. I have 8 50w LED's (sold as 50's, on back says 69) that run at 5.7 amps. I bought them used. I have a 10 amp fuse on each one and run 16g wires into a bus with 10g wire from the bus to the 31v battery. They are pretty solidly mounted and the connections are tight. I have been having trouble with the lights cutting out on me very quickly. Usually a couple cut out after a little over an hour and more cut out with each passing 15 minutes or so. Last night, I was down to two lights after only about 40 minutes. One came back on for a while only to cut out again and another was flickering on and off. The lights do not feel hot anywhere. I am a lighting/wiring dunce! What am I doing wrong? Or did I just get royally screwed with some lights that were on their last legs when I bought them?
I took my nephews out for the 2nd time ever last night and they were so disappointed that we had to quit so quickly. I felt terrible. If the chips or drivers (whatever those are) are done for, can I take them somewhere to have them replaced? These are solidly built lights that were probably over 100 bucks apiece when they were new.
Please help!
