Hey guys went out last nite with my new lights which are the 150 hps with caps from econo lighting. I have 2 of them one on each side and they start up seperate from the two 150 hps with out caps that are on the front. After the front lights warmed up I started the new lights up and as they got close to warm up the started flickering like crazy. So I cut all lights off and then tried to start the new ones up first. Same thing happened again. The front ones would run fine but the new lights would not. I have a honda 2200 watt genny and is rated at 18.6 amps. Whats my problem?????

Try it on house current to see if you have a genny problem.

hook them up to a outlet at your home and if this stops the flickering then you may need to adjust your idle screw and/or govenor.

I know what he is saying..... I'm confused why this kid is asking for more advice without trying what he has already been told!!
there's your answer...but really probably not a kid at all...he may have just not understood what obg was telling him to do...or maybe he tried that and it didn't work...or maybe he got shocked when he tried to do what obg told him to do so now he won't listen to obg anymore...who knows...

That's probably it. I don't listen to me anymore either after that licking a capacitor thing here a while back--

Ok I got my buddys brand new genrac genny 3500 watts and hooked it up and got the same result. Then hooked it up to home service and worked fine again. He has 6 lights just like mine and he went home and hooked 2 of them up to his genny and they never flickered. I am so confused????

Try by passing the capacitors, and my question is, how long did you allow them to flicker before you give up on them. If you only let them run for a couple minutes let them run longer.

It ain't the caps--it's the genny.

Nothing confusing at all. If they work correctly on house current but flicker on the genny that should point you to one conclusion. GENNY His 2 lights is not the same load as your 6 lights.
