Lookin for opinions on replacement line. Currently have pink ams line. Lookin for people's opinions.


Lookin at brownell or monkey wire.

Monkey wire is for spinners. Gorilla wire is for bottles.

Have no experience with brownell.

if it isn't broke don't fix it ..... ams stuff is solid ... unless you just want more line or more # but i shoot a spinner so ...... take it with grain of salt

If you are shooting gar, 400lb fast flight. If not Cortland 200lb planer board line, which is similar to if not identical to the line AMS supplies.

I used to use that planer board mast line was like 2-300# or something like that I got it for free from the charter boat, I shoot spinners now though

Here we go LOL I had a spinner, TJE rod, F&D seat. I just couldn't get used to it I tried. Been shootin a bottle for so long.

I tryed the TJE rod. Cool concept...worked flawlessly. But i use my rod as a line puller 10 times a night probably. The f&D works a lot better for this, because when i wrap the line around the rod, it cannot slip off the edge, due to the eyelet on the F&D. So i went back to the good ole f&d.

I tried woody wire last year, didnt like it and went back to the standard AMS line. Seemed like it knotted easier then the AMS stuff.
