I've had better luck during the day because thats normally when I go. Have tried at night a few times ,but havent had any real luck. You can shoot alot of silver carp ,just about all day long ,till your tired of shooting. The only draw back to this is they are not very big. Average size 3 to 6 lbs with a few pushing 8 to 12 lbs??? I'm going to try to hit wolf island just outside East Prairie this weekend. The water here is usualy never clear but the silver carp action you can't bet. And so far (knock on wood) the fish are fare size as well. Average 8-10lbs with some pushing????

I'd love to get into some big buffalo. Haven't been having as much luck with those as I would like. And as far as your boat being big enough...there should'nt be any problem with it. Now going out into the main river you may not want to do that, but the channel is no problem. People go out there in canoes all the time. And your 18-60 wouldnt have any trouble in the main river. You can get out behind some of the wing dikes and get into some monster fish.

There are all kinds of shoots and pools off the main river giving you a good chance at some large fish. I have found the only draw back to be water clarity. They do'nt call it Muddy Mississippi for no reason.....lol
You can PM any time and will be glad to go with and show you around. Or take my boat too if that works better for you.
