Does anyone have a youth bow they are wanting to part with? I have a buddies son who went out with us for the first time last weekend and he can't quite get the recurve back far enough to get the barbs into the fish. I'm thinking he needs something around 15# to 20# draw weight and draw length about 19. Preferably something with a pretty wide range of adjustment so as he grows he can continue to use the same bow. PM me if anyone has something. Thanks guys.

Get him a PSE Discovery 2 ($179 new). You can get 20# limbs for now and 29# limbs later for the little guy :tu:

Thanks for the info, I'll see what I can find.
No problem. That's the best bang for the buck for sure....especially since you can change the limbs when he can draw more weight. Lots of guys on here shoot Discoverys....they pack a serious punch for their size.

Genesis bows are nice too. I bought one on clearance for ~$90 (a steal) and I bought another one in the Cabela's Bargain Cave for a similar price. One has a 10-20# draw weight and the other has a 20-30# draw weight. One is a Genesis Pro and you can adjust the draw length very easily. The Genesis Pro is awesome!
I'm not yet familiar with the PSE Discovery 2, but I definitely will look into it. I'd prefer the simplicity of a traditional bow to a compound. The compound is more compact though, so there are trade-offs.
