Alright guys I am finally getting off the bottle and going to the spinner and just wanted to know if there is anything I need to know as far as spooling line and just general up keep of the reel.

I have found monkey wire to be the best but there are several options out there. I also prefer the TI20 reels but haven't had any experience with the muzzys but heard they are great as well. Make sure and keep your line lubed and don't forget to push the button or your gonna lose some arrows.

Ive been using the same power pro line on my MUZZY reel for the past 2 years. Ive unspooled and flipped it once to put the good line out front but its worked like a champ. I am running low though so my next purchase will be Carp Cable! Had monkey wire for a while and was not a fan. Lost 2 arrows and my biggest gar due to cut line and fray.

Reason for us using slides with a rod is due to looking for bigheads we always draw back, hit lights then let down if there isn't any fish. Doing this TTT back creates slack line behind the rest that has to be realed in every time and check for tangles. This takes time that I'm not willing to take when slides and a shoot through keep the slack in front of everything and nothing to tangle on and have never lost an arrow with a rod. To each his own i guess.

I Use both Muzzy and Ti20, no real issue with either. I also use straight shooter or F&D rod, slide and it will pull nock off string if I forget to push the button. Reel Magic spray is good stuff. I like the Monkey wire but have had great luck with Calcutta 130# too. Once off the bottle I won't go back.

get the shoot thru rod, they're bada$$. I shoot slides as well, it's kept me from losing arrows more than once...

My setup is a Muzzy Reel with Carp Cable and RGD Custom Reel Cap, F&D Pro Seat with a TJE Shoot Thru Rod......... I tie to the back and never looked back! :hb:

It took a lot of trial and error before I found the combo that works best for me, my backup bows are setup the same way :tu:

As far as tying to the reel, I tie a slip knot and then flip a loop to create kind of a half hitch, this will keep your line from slipping while trying to spool the reel and it will give you a cinch knot last resort before your slip knot takes the brunt force of the line being ran completely out with a big fish!

I use a muzzy spincast spooled with 200 pound fast flight line. Just tie a loop to the back of the nock. If you pass through a fish just unloop and pull the line out of the fish. Saves alot of time. If you forget to push the button your arrow will fall off. Get better arrow flight doing this. Harder to tune the arrow using the slides. If something hangs up during the shot the fast flight will break. Pretty safe set up and have never had an issue. Also use a muzzy real seat with a sharp shooter in the front. Seams to catch the pick up pin easier when you engage the reel. Picked up the whole set up from backwater outdoors.
