A 35# grass carp, a lot of guys on here said they taste good. I guess we'll find out. I shot 20 fish and the last one weighed almost as much as all of the others. Sorry they're sideways, not sure how to fix that.

I filleted one once and was not bad, just get the red meat off. The one I filleted was smaller than what you are working with though.

I wish I had that gar, it is my favorite. We're cooking it up tonight. I'll let you know how it was.

Ok so we fried some of this fish up and it tasted pretty good. We eat the silvers and gar that I shoot each year, and this was as good as any of the silvers. There are a lot of bones, but they are large and if you cut in the direction the bone is running there are no small pieces. We didn't do anything special to prepare the meat, soaked it in salt water and ice a couple of hours then chilled. image.jpg
