well now, I've been running mercury vapors on my boat for several years now and like all the different lighting systems that are used in bowfishing " to each his/her own " they work very well, with long bulb life ,and are very brite, I'm runnung 8 -100 watt lights in the front, and 2 - 100 watt lights in the rear, on a honda 2000 genny for the front and a 2nd. honda 2000 genny for the rear lights, iota converter and other lighting, but you should match the wattage of the bulb to the fixture wattage, I also wired in a on/off toggel switch on each light since they have to warm up to full, all at once would be too much for the genny.

I agree, my 100 watt lights are rated at 4400 lumans each, years ago I had a smaller boat and was limited to the size of genny & lights they worked fine at the time so i kept them on the presant boat, I know about the regs. the bulbs are still avalible.

this is true, I was also thinking about led's, whatever I choose it's going to be another expense, so I'll run the MV"s as long as bulbs are still around .
