If I dont sell my 150 watt Metal Halide Lights i am going to re use them this year, My question..... I will have 10 150 watt metal halides 1 powermax 55 converter running on a champ 3500, Would it be worth me wiring my lights to run off of 240volts and then use one leg of the 240volt to get my 120 volt and then run the converter off of that? Or would the converter be pulling to much on the one 120volt leg? Or if some one wants to buy the lights they are for sale $450.00. Thanks for your time!

It doesn't matter to split the load off the 240 plug, it's ohms law. 10 amps x 240v = 2,400 watts or 20 amps x 120 volts = 2,400 watts also, it's all the same load on the gennie

pretty sure a champion 3500 doesnt have a 240v plug, you might be thinking of the 120v 30a plug
Was thinking the same thing, only 1 model does looked it up on champion site and have a 15 amp 240 and 30 amp 120v RV plug, I used the 30 amp RV plug on mine with 10 wire to (2) 15 amp GFI set in a weatherproof gang box.
