Hey guys, I just placed an order on my new Lowe Roughneck 1860 with a 40 hp mercury jet outboard. Given the investment, I was hoping to get some advice on how to keep the mice out. The boat will be stored in a barn most of the year, and they seem to get into everything. How do I keep them out of the outboard? I am very concerned with the massive hole in the jet boat that seems to be a perfect nesting spot. Ive heard you can tape the air intake or fill it with steel wool. Ive also heard moth balls. Anyone have any advice?

Moth balls I've heard and I actually used dryer sheets in mine. No sign of mice. I stored mine in a barn for the long Northern Illinois winter. I did also throw some poison in there just in case, but it was all untouched. And a buddy of mine showed me a thing too, it was pretty much a small mesh bag full of pine saw dust. Works for him
