When my boat is running I always made sure to have rain gear, a pair of coveralls (or at least a heavy coat, even summer nights can get chilly), extra rope for everything from tieing off, towing, to rigging up an extra anchor. That said, I have an extra anchor. Flashlights, headlamps, paddles (to prevent going up chit creek without a paddle), gun with ammo, also carry a tarp. Bailing bucket that has seen mroe use than I care to admit cuz i've had bilge pump trouble. Solar battery charger, various tools, axe, sometimes a small chainsaw, extra fuel and oil. I've learned from experience..
