We are working on getting more support from the city of Guntersville, however I recently learned that we cannot have our cake and eat it to, so to speak. What I have been working on is getting some cash support for the tournament, this is based solely on the number of lodging room nights during our event, this amount would be no more then possibly $1000, could be less as well. The more rooms that are booked per days, the more we can get, the less rooms the less we get. However I just learned that in order to apply for extra monies for the tournament will eliminate the current pre tournament dinner and post tournament breakfast we are currently recieving. Meaning we have to choose 1 over the other. Now I know more prize money is always a good thing and I must state that if we can get to the point that we have 80teams or more consistently we will be raising the prize money as well.
I just need some input to make a decision on this as I feel both situations offer us a definitely benefit and needs to be discussed in order to make the best decision for all involved. Just remember no extra monies from the city are guaranteed they are soley dependent on the number of room/nights that can be attributed to our event, but the dinner/breakfast is guaranteed and definitely has it's advantages as well. This is a tournament but it is also a bowfishing event and much more then just a tournament so we need to consider all avenues before voting. Thanks
