Make sure the pickup pin is going all the way down when u push ur button

 

that's why I still shoot retrievers, too many little problems with muzzys that slow down the killing process

 

I shot my retriever the other night when the muzzy was doing that and The Retriever sucks shooting little fish. The pin is going all the way down anything else I should check almost feels like its catching around the capwhere it comes off the spool

 

same thing happened to mine the day I bought it after about 10 shots and wont buy another

 

Make sure you have enough line on the spool... IF it's not packed on it will catch coming off

I personally don't like the reel magic for my line. I use fast flight and a muzzy also. Once I get my reel spooled, I will stretch my line all the way back out and reel in 10 ft or so and then spray my spool down with WD-40, then 10 more ft and more WD-40 and so on till I reel all my line back into my spool then soak it down real good again. After doing this I can shoot my entire spool of line out without any hang ups.

 

...they say that the WD which has Petroleum will break down the fibers over time and ruin the line

 

I was worried about that when I started doing it last year, but I still have the same line on my reel that I shot all last summer and still no issues with line breaking. Not to say it want break next trip out, but so far I haven't had any trouble.

Sounds like it just needs a good soaking of silicone.

 

I'll try spraying it some more. But I've sprayed the crap out of it already. Have you seen it grab bad enough to make the arrow kick to the side

 

I used a my muzzy for the first time on Sunday, i used fast flight 200# spooled it on till it was tight, pulled out and cut off about 8 feet of line. Took the reel outside, unspooled the whole thing in a pile, sprayed it with silicone, and wound it in. Then unspooled and wound it 2 more times to spread the silicone around. Had absolutely no issues with it!!!! Shot like a dream, wound like a champ!!!! So far, very pleased.

 

The 1 I just got caught so bad it was break in my line. But a new roll of ff fixed it. Haven't had s problem since

 

Yep had them drag so bad the arrow looked like it was in slow motion then just dropped in the water bout ten feet out.Soaked it down good with silicone and it was good to go.

 

I had a synergy that had the same problem. I think every now and then a lemon comes off the line. I had so many issues with that real. Have had a no issues with my Muzzy yet.
