Finally got a chance to try out the new bow and the second shot the Hydro Glide rest snapped in half. $25 bucks down the tubes. Anyone have any recommendations before I buy something new?

Caint really see why the rest would of just snapped in half unless line got tangled on it or arrow slide stop was down but if it's broke its broke. RPM victory or a quick draw would be my vote for a new rest. I've shot both, and both great rest but victory is $15 cheaper and all I use now.
I should clarify that the mounting bracket snapped in half around the hole where the shaft from the rest attaches. I dont believe I had the rest over tightened but for whatever reason it broke. I looked at the Victory rest you suggested and I like the fact it is aluminum and not plastic. Do you use the version with or without the gates?
Get the victory with retention gates if you go that route, you can always take them off if you dont like them. Just keep an eye on your nylon gallery, it will shift or wear. Quick draw is an excellent option and excellent customer service.
Yes. They have awesome customer service! Like carpivore said if you get a Victory check to make sure that the nylon arrow pad is tight, if not pull it out and put a drop of super glue on it. We have had 4-5 victory and only had issues with one being loose when new.
^^^^ This. You may have had the slide stop down which will break a rest.. The hydro glide is a huge pile
Of crap to start with so hard saying.. QD makes an awesome rest.. Easy to tune and fully enclosed.
Thanks for all the info guys. The Hydo Glide would probably be ok if it was made of aluminum and when I picked it up in the store I really thought that is was aluminum. It wasn't until I opened the package that I realized it was plastic so I went with it. Now I wish I would have spent a few more bucks.
There is only one shop I know of less than an hour from my house that sells any bow fishing gear so I took my retriever pro off my new bow and put it on my Samick Sage so I could go fishing. Saw one carp and missed but at least i got to go. I will have to wait until next week to get a new rest.
Rick.
My buddy snapped two hydro resst in back to back trips. Fixed him up with the AMS roller rest off the spare bow and hes been good since. I shoot AMS rollers and Quick draw.. Both good rest in my opinion but id give the edge to quick draw.
I finally made to the bow shop and picked up a PSE rest because it was the only all aluminum rest they had in stock. Works great and seems to be made very well. Not sure but it looks to be a blue Quick Draw with PSE logo. Thanks for all the input guys.
Yes it is the snapshot. I couldn't remember the name when I posted. I gave it a try the other night and all I can say is I love this thing. I try not to be but for what ever reason no matter how hard I try I'm hard on hunting and fishing gear so all metal is the way to go.
