Well its been a long winter up here in MN. Since I had alot of time on my hands I thought I would take on a little project. I already had some HPS lights on my rig but, thought I could improve them a bit. So, I came up with these changes.
The 4 new fixtures:
Added a hinge to the side to access the bulb:
Added a heavy duty latch to keep them closed:
Used a high temp gasket to seal the whole fixture and added tempered glass:
As long as I was making new fixtures I thought I would upgrade the Ballast Box too. Went from the old Stanley tool box to this:
All the wiring, capacitors, and ignitors are hidden under the plate the ballasts are attached to. I figured there was no need for a fan since the box will act as a heat sink:
I will get some more pics of the connectors I used and other good stuff when I get that far. If you got any suggestions on things I could change let me know.
