Is it a cogged belt? Do the pulleys have a lip on the edges?

I didn't think arrow prop had a cogged reduction. I never had problems with belts snapping on mine but I run a 48"prop and my pulleys seem to be larger in diameter. Beaver had problems breaking belts with a bigger prop smaller pulleys, I think it was a century drive. Not sure how much difference there is between different brands of motors and the amount of stress they put on the belt, especially when shutting the motor off. I've only had one belt snap in 10 years and it sits out in the weather year round.

Looks like it wasn't aligned properly and jumped the side of the pulley. Mine broke in the same fashion but it wasn't beat up on the edge.

Not sure how yours tightens up but I try to get mine as tight as possible. When I'm done there is some play in it, exactly how much I would have to check.
