How would a still brand new in box motor guide 84lb thrust foot contoll for 300 bucks sound?

 

Good price but sounds like a pain n my left leg

 

Sounds like a good deal if you like foot control better have good balance.

I would go troller, I agree with Brady on the 101, but if you can get that 84 for that cheap Id do it.

 

It would depend where you shoot. Heavy vegitation then fan would be good.

For anything else troller is the way to go.

101 on a 1648, Holly Chit! WOW I run a #55 MG hand control on my 1648 and it moves pretty darn good! With a #55 I only need 1 battery, Iota, and smaller genny to run everything!!!!

 

I run a 43lb Power Drive, you hit the pedal on full speed with it turned sideways and it damn near puts me in the water.

101 would definitely put you in the drink!

 

Was down there last weekend. Grass was bad some of it was like carpet.
Wished we had fan that night.
But usualy a troller will get the job done and A lot cheaper too.

How about running the big motor as a kicker? We did that with my partners 15' and a 25hp merc and it worked great! no batteries for the troller and no extra weight from adding a kicker! :tu:

man a 101 would flip that thing in a hard turn to the side. An 84# MG will pull move a 19foot glass boat with no issues at all. So its more than enough. If that is a digital or a motor guide tour you need to have already bought it. That is about a 1/3 of what it should cost.

I personaly would got with the foot an sexy stick! But there's a thread of a fan build on a 1648 (I think) an it looks very effective

 

I have to agree, I run a 74# on a 17ft boat with a full interior, I can normally use speed three at all times and pull the boat around with no problems, even against the current, speed 5 will actually make a bit of a wake. Ill bet it goes 8-9 mph. I however do very much like the foot controls, it takes some balance, and you can end up with a sore leg, but having both hands on the bow ready for that quick shot is worth it!

 

has anyone tried a trolling motor tray on a bow fishing boat?
