dOES ANYONE KNOW FOR CERTAIN ANY THING ABOUT THE AFE after market turbo throat adapter, where they claim it will allow 70% more air? iT'S A BOLT ON AFTERMARKET thing that claims the problem with the lly is the sharp ridge around the throat of the turbo inlet ? cost about $225

I'm no expert on Duramax's either but couldn't you just save your money and grind off the sharp edge on the stock one? Like i said i'm no expert by any means...

No. Its plastic.

DWO, personally I wouldn't spend the money on it unless you plan on doing some more mods that are going to require the added air flow. I just don't think you would ever notice any difference with it with little to no mods to your engine. Just my 2 cents.

Is this a Powerstroke bashing Dura Max thread? LOL No Dwo I cant help ya but it sounds like JP is on the right track. There are a lot of aftermarket gimmicks out there that dont deliver enough diffrence to notice. More air in is always good if you have the right components to handle the extra air and adiquite exhaust to get rid of the exhaust. Id ck the chevy forums too. Good luck
