ok made sure the rest is strait... reset my center and went up 1/4 inch and its not kicking the azz of the arrow up anymore.... now its going to the right every shot...maybe i am just a dumbazz.

I got issues bad man lol ... now its azz up again... i have no clue... the washer thing might help me left and right... but the azz up thing is blowing my mind... even when i get it where i think it will work... i get 2 good shots then azz up on the next 10..... wtf????????????????

I think i might try to put a different rest on it and see if i can get the bow to shoot strait... if not then i guess all my arrows could be bent ... all 4 i been using ..... not likely but at this point its this or start breaking stuff.... my stress level is at 100....

I thought that too but i shoot the same with 2 rests designed the same... one shoots bullets one doesnt....i am lost.

i agree obg... i just cant figure out why i can get one rest shooting great by moving my nock point and not the other... and they are the same style of rest...

#46 ·
come on in here jeff... i just put it on again after i got the hydroglide to shoot bullets... again... and the fannman is azz up with every adjustment i can make... can it just be my style of shooting... cause i nose my hydroglide down a little and you cannot do that with a fannman....????????

Since this thread is in general discussion;
There are 2 things that are a must with every shot when you shoot a hard arrow off a hard rest-
1. Release is critical. Anything but a picturebook release will show up in arrow flight.
2. How you hold/grip the bow matters. Poor form will also gravely affect arrow flight.

Some people manage to do the above 2 things all night and have good sucess with the hard rests-epoxy, fishhook, Quick Draw, roller rests, Fan Man etc. As for myself, I often make sloppy releases and exhibit poor form in a bowfishing enviroment so none of the hard rests work well for me. When I switched to a bowfishing biscuit arrow flight became more consistent day in and day out.

This in no way is meant to detract from the Fanman or Quick Draw rests since they both are good products from good people--just that if you use a hard rest pay close attention to your release and form.

OBG i agree with this... but i shoot good on a wave or fishhook or hydroglide... wich are all fixed position rests just cant figure out why i cant get this fannman to shoot good....

#53 ·
they are not .... when i put the hydroglide on i have to readjust my nock point ... it sits higher... but that only takes me like 10 shots and bam bullets again.... i put the fannman on and readjust my nock point like 100 times and it shoots nock hi EVERY time....i dont get it..

#57 ·
good idea except it works with other rests... so no

Just read through this thread. I hate to hear that our product may be the cause of some bad shooting. I will be glad to send you another rest to try if you would like. Just PM me your address. If the new rest works send the old one back so that I can study what might be causing the problem. If neither work send them both back and I will give you a refund. These rests are pricey and I don't want anyone unhappy with their purchase.

if anyone has an idea to try let me know cause it still shooting like crap lol!

When I adjust mine. I lay the arrow in the rest. Put the arrow in front of the string. Do not attach it to the string. Make sure the arrow is laying flat in the rest. put 2 fingers on it in the rest just to make sure it is not moving in the rest. Set your nock point at this position. That is the true path of the rest. Also make sure you are not using over sized nocks just that little bit of a lip can alter the arrow flight when it hits the rest. If you are using them. Either change to a slim line or file the nock even with the shaft on the side that would contact the rest.

Everytime i start to set a rest i set it as your are stating... this one included... then i adjust up to make it shoot strait... i shoot slim nocks so no issue there... and where i hve the nock set in the picture is as close to strait as i can get the arrow and its still nock high in the target... something on this rest or the way i shoot is making it go azz over tea kettle for some reason!

this might sound stupid but try shooting 2 under and one over, see what that does, then try shooting one over one under, might make a little difference but also i don't know anything!!!

#68 ·
This does make a difference and its better .. but its not how i shoot.... i can shoot all other rests 3 under and make them shoot bullets... no reason to change how i shoot to make a rest work ... catch my drift?

its cool I want all opinions .. just trying to eliminate all posibilitys... and get this to work! thanks for the post taylor
