My Z7 did the same thing just before elk season last year. They called it porposing mine was caused by the knock being pinched between upper point and my release. Not sure if this would be possible in your case or if its what you mean by knock up
Knock up means when the arrow hits the water or target the nock is WAY higher then it was when it left the bow... not shooting strait!

shoot a release just to take any human variation out of the equation...
good plan... but i can shoot other rests with fingers and shoot bullets... i want to shoot this rest the same and i should be able to... other people do... so thats not an option.... like saying your cars brakes dont work so stick your foot out the door... it might work but ... not the way it should!

just for test purposes...not trying to change your shooting style...I would never shoot a release when bowfishing, but for tuning it may help...

dont tune your bowfishing bow in a target. go to the water and shoot it.
did the same thing in the water as in the target... shooting azz up doesnt change if i shoot it in a target .. or the water or ground or air......

if it wont shoot with fingers to start... why would a release help it ... i am just trying to understand ... once i take the release off i am going to have to adjust it to fingers so .... it will be the same thing...

ok so then starting with fingers shouldnt make a differnce.
Man you are hard headed...LOL...that doesnt mean I dont make a bad finger shot ...chit probably half my finger shots are jacked...but I tune my bow for dead on centershot...set it up perfect knowing that its not a perfect world on the boat...I am just trying to help you with your prob....I am a little over analytical at times, but I can solve problems...ELIMINATE THE POSIBILITIES...
