Most fans I have seen have 400 degrees or more rotation. You will need it to be able to go completely around in both directions to be able to back out of bad situations. Your current design won't allow for that. Don't forget your reduction for the fan too.

I don't run a fan, but one thing I see is you need to allow the fan to rotate enough to back-up.

 

Yea i figured i needed 360 degrees+. I already have a reduction unit.

 

have to agree that you need to be able to turn atleast 360 or you will be in trouble. But that is an awsome design you have. love the strage and walk-arounds

 

Looks awesome...Like the others said...You gotta be able to spin it beyond 360 to back up off stuff and outa spots...Keep us posted as the build progresses...I have a feeling its gonna be good.

 

your also going to want to be able to tilt the outboard all the way up out of the water, so your stand may need to be higher. I would ditch the filming platform from the very back, that will be too far back to get quality video anyhow...

Oh, and yes 360 degrees of rotation is a must for your fan!

 

You are going to want to have the bottom of the shroud at least clear the platform so you can rotate it more than 360. that would put you up even higher than what it is now. This is just my opinion, but I think you will find that with the fan mounted that high up it's going to limit you to places you can go considerably. Under bridges, under trees along shorelines, carwashes, garages, etc. It's also going to be like a big parachute going down the road. There are many times a year that i wish my fan was either removable or colapsable (especially when traveling long distances). I would also feel bad for the camera person that would be sitting that close to the fan when it is swung around!
Another thing that I have noticed, having one mounted back past that engine like that would really be hard for me to get used to. I can just picture myself swinging the back of the boat into something and hitting fan first.
Might need some type of stairs or something to get up to the deck also. This is an issue that i ran into with my deck, and it isn't even raised like yours is. It was harder for my GF and some of the younger kids that I took with to get up and down safely in the dark.
It is a very cool rendering and it looks like you have a ton of thought put into it.

oh man....not a 2072 tracker grizzly!......take it easy on that hull is all I can say. Pm me if you want to know more but I won't trash talk tracker on here and have a bunch of people mad over it.

 

its obvious that i will have to change the design on the back of the boat. Here were some of the first round of plans for the boat. I want a wide bench seat that is slightly elevated for better vision behind the center console.

I believe the plans were for a 7 foot long deck by 6 feet wide.

 

I got 540 turn and would want no less every, for my 2 cents!!

 

You do realize that you could get a 100% custom built 1/8'' aluminum boat for not much more than what you will be paying for that Tracker. Just a thought for you to be able to get more for your money!!

 

I think it is too late for that, but that would be my thoughts too. Definately 360+ for rotation on the fan.
