well I finally got the pontoon home. plan on starting the tear down over the weekend so we can start with a bare deck. still wish to put an aluminum floor in it however with divorce going on and kids being involved money just isn't there. mayb in a year or two. its a 24 ft with a Johnson 115 on it im happy with that for our power plant for now. looking at the logs we kinda want to polish them. however my concern is reflection. I don't know if its going to mess with our eyes while we are trying to shoot. our other option will be to paint them up with primary color of black. any thoughts on this? for now we are going to stick with the halogens and run 2 gennys. so we have the power to run our converters also. came with a 50 pound minn kota and have a 84lb motorguide available for $250 as I know the 50 wont cut it. once I figure out how to get pictures uploaded from my phone ill keep you posted on the build as we go.

After recently redoing my boat I can say the nights are long, the days are short, plan on many a $50-$100 trip to get the parts ya didn't foresee or realize ya needed but it feels really good to stand back and look at it when done. Post pics of progress, listen to advice from others as it will save you time, money or both because a lot of guys have been down the rebuild road already and their pain is your gain.

This will be my 2nd build. We built a 1848 first. After some frustrations decided to go to a toon. For safety reasons and always have people wanting to go when we are just out having fun. 3 guys was really to much for the 1848. But advice is always welcome

Really? I have a 1752 and I can shoot 4 off the deck comfortably!

I had 2 250+ guys and one that was probably 200 and myself. I wasn't shooting just guiding but we were all on the platform. I had 2 50lb sand bags on the back to keep us from tipping forward... They would all get excited and run over to one side of the boat and I had to literally hang off the other side to keep it from going over... Had to explain to them that boats don't work good when we all stand in 1 corner...

Well we got everything off the deck today. Nothing but a big floor. Decided to leave that floor in for now. Mounted most of the lights up. Start building the new drivers console tomorrow hopefully. Lookin to be a nice upgrade
