I finally am able to post! I have been going crazy reading up on every post and watching every video on YouTube! Shout out to the awesome build guys! Carpcommander you rock!

A little background. Started bowfishing summer of '14. Found a generator in the trash. First time out we tipped a tripod halos you use for construction over the boat. Thought we were going to get shocked but it just smoked like crazy after we ripped it out of the water. 1 still worked after that tho. I built a wood platform and bought 2 home Depot 75w hps.... Worked great on my 14' but time for an upgrade...

Friday night a couple months ago Im surfing cl and find an 1860 polar kraft in TN! Convinced my wife and by 1am we were on the road and by noon Saturday we were exchanging cash! Got her for 1600 and 200 in gas and 140 for the boots my wife had to buy while we stopped by Nashville. (that was part of the negotiation process, she'll go with me if she can get new boots!)

So here I am new boat in the driveway. Everyday looking up deck builds, boat builds, aluminum welding, grapple points, Osprey....

I wake up at 3am and can't sleep. Turn over, still can't sleep. 4am now and might as well look on bfc for build treads. Carp commander builds keep my attention. Then the duck dynasty guy, garp, crazy hair guy, cowboy all get me smiling when you guys rag on him.

I feel like a school boy on the night before the first day of school, or one of you guys before a tournament! How can a guy get some sleep around here???

It's pretty dead here lately, but there's plenty to read. Feel free to liven things up...we could use a little excitement.

I'll tackle any physical jobs without blinking an eye. Like cut down 4 70' pine trees in my yard... Now trying to post pictures on here is going to be a difficulty for me! Lol I'll study the "how to post pictures" threads deeply and see if I can get some up tonight.

I'm from Royal Oak but work at a body shop in Troy. I also started a Dumpster Rental business on the side. I just started this year and have 7 rubber wheeled dumpsters so far!

I will be getting the aluminum tube tomorrow before my dentist appointment! I'm thinking of doing 1x2 set vertical. I already picked up a piece of 5x8x1/8" for $90 at a scrap yard up north! I thought that was a steal! Break is over back to work!

I just paid $190 for a 4x8 sheet of 3/16. So I'd say you got a good deal on that.

Welcome to the site, the only cure for losing sleep is to bowfish until youre too tired to stay awake.

this thing has been well used. i will be possibly cutting the transom out, rear bench seat thats been hacked in, and front deck that sags pretty good. time and money will determine how much i decide to do. i want it to fish 4 guys on the front deck so i think im going with a 6 by 7 or 6 by 6. i can get a 25hp merc bigfoot for 1500 from a buddy. i know itll be slow but its cheap and it fits the budget for now. we mostly fish small lakes so its not going to be speeding anywhere. chime in if you think ill be ok with the 25.

the deck is going to hold a bunch of cheapo ebay leds and 2 big hps on the front sides and 2 75w hps on the rear sides (i already have). we want the lights under the deck and maybe only a 10" tall deck. if anyones in michigan and needs anything welded let me know. ill be a pro at aluminum after this deck build!

goodnight for now. getting aluminum tomorrow! will post pics and price for everyone

I don't think u will ever be able to plain out with a 25hp outboard especially with other passengers and gear. It'll go but like u said its gonna be a slow process

Welcome to the forum. I've got a 2003 Johnson 25 horse tiller with electric start and low hours that I'll sell you for $1,500. I'll even throw in a 1454 on a nice little trailer.

You might not be able to plain out with the 25 but you can always sell it later or use it on your next boat. Set it up as a kicker when you get a big motor. There's lots of possibilities. Why not build your deck around the piece of 5x8 you have or is that slated for the rear transom? You can always build your deck from road signs too. They can be had from recyclers. Welcome to your new addiction.
