I have been bow fishing for several years and with different boats. I am wanting to upgrade. My question is, am I better off buying a new tracker 2072 that is already set up for bow fishing rather than building one myself.

Depends. Are you an electrician/engineer/fabricator? If you are then I would buy a bare boat and make whatever you want on it. If not, I would buy a setup that is pleasing to you.
