Once you get the tablet in your hands , then you buy the navonics app.
I just bought the US one for $9.99....the one that cost $49.99 is the "HD" one...I couldn't tell you the difference in them. Not sure? This is what I was looking at
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Navionics&hl=en
but I dont know where to go get it?
My Google store only offers one......I know, but at that point.................which one..............?
....I was going to as well...will do budDoes the navionics app automatically pan as you drive on the iPad? Or any tablet for that matter. The app on my old droid I had to pan manually.
Let us know how it works out kuger. I was about to go buy a lowrance elite 7 but if this works out I may go this route. Seems cheaper anyway.
The one for 9.99 on Apple is for the IPhone App....the one for 49.99 for the IPad HD app does have a better pixel rate because of the larger screen. Better detail can be noticed when using the satellite background. Not sure on the android play store.Thanks....I read in the reviews that it would block and distort on a Tablet....good to know it wont
:tu: I think Navionics needs to be cutting me a check with all this advertisement :laugh:i might have to get me one of these
On my way to work yesterday I had the navionics app open on my Samsung Tab2 and the little arrow was moving as I drove. I do not have a wireless provider for the tablet but it does have an internal GPS. I was not able to get a map overlay to work on it because I didn't have a internet signal. From what I've read some tablets have internal gps and some don't but the guys at best buy said none do.
Okay guys maybe I can clear this up for you. All you need to do is connect your tablet to Wi-Fi at your house go to the lake that you want it will automatically download that map. You are correct it will not do the map overlays which is the satellite view however it will show the lake and everything around it for instance the grass and buildings and such will just be yellow which is fine because you're just using this for a lake. The GPS will work without Wi-Fi and without cellular so the guys at Best Buy need to find a new day job. I turned off all cellular data and Wi-Fi on my iPad and the GPS worked just fine it moved around all over the map as I was driving as well as it showed correct miles per hour. Cellular data does help tremendously on the satellite imagery a.k.a. map overlays but it's not necessary. I hope this information helps if you have any questions feel free to give me a holler. On my way to work yesterday I had the navionics app open on my Samsung Tab2 and the little arrow was moving as I drove.
