Whats your count up to so far FS. Its weird to see those pics with bare ground, haven't seen that in awhile. Again thanks for going to the meeting in H'burg.
about 75 reds so far.......starting to shoot the reds now instead of trapping them (nighttime predator callin)......we are definitely not full time, this is a line that is checked before work with a flashlight on the route to work.......the real work is in the skinnin but we numb that with astronomical amounts of beer and "green label" jack on weekends.
got an ice storm last night....snow i can deal with but even snares stop functioning when they are caked in ice...guess it will be all callin for a little while......maybe some mink and beaver trappin tho
That's about the size of the one i got this year, i'm headed home this weekend to run the trap line with my father and see if i can't fill my otter tag. Times running out for me this year...
eastern reds are paying about 25 for good ones.......***** vary from nothing to about 20 depending on size and primeness.....beaver im hearing is just now starting to bring upwards of 20 dollars but were paying bout 12-15.......that being said, all this fur has not been sold and is skinned, dried, and put up and will go to auction in march
I caught fox and coyotes live he in louisiana we put them in are fox pins u can get 80 bucks for a live red fox and 100 for a coyote u good trap better then me that's why I have to work on a rig.
