IMO I'm disappointed with Mathews. It has the same bells and whistles and look as the last two years has had. They changed the string stop and changed the roller guard, and put limb stops. Thats the only changes. Its basically another Z7 to add to the other 4 we already have.

I guess I was expecting more, with it being their 20th year anniversary.

Im not saying it's a bad bow, or that it isnt a shooter. I was just expecting something out of the box, rather than another waffle bow.

Very nice bow.Not just another Z7 variant.A half pound reduction in weight is ALOT! The cable guard has a little "flex" so it will definitely help the guys who've had the "left tear syndrome" when paper tuning a roller guard Mathews. They also widened the center-shot,so broadhead clearance is better.

Basically,it sounds like they've finally listened to the dealers and consumers because they have definitely addressed some previous issues. :tu:

It's not to impressive but neither as Hoyts new line either... Remember they can't pull out all the stops on one bow or they wouldn't be able to come out with new one each year. They just add a little at a time instead of all at once. Honestly I would rather see a new bow every few years that's "different" instead of a new one each year that's just a copy of last years with a few alterations. But at least they put a cam stop on finally, maybe now Mathews will have decent back wall.

It does...real solid.BUT,there's not as much valley as some 1 cammers are accustomed to.May take a "little gettin' use to".

Draw cycle and stop is similar to alot of the Hybrid/Binary/cam1/2 bows out there.Still smooth tho...no sudden drop into the wall.Nice and gradual.

I kind of like the "spike" at max weight then sudden drop over a gradual incline. Makes it feel like less weight. My Z28 feels much heavier then my SB at the same weight. Same with my Burner but spirals with 65% are a totally different ballgame.
I guess will have to see how this ultra light z7 feels :)

I went and shot a demo tonight! I have a Z7 and it shoots totally different to me. I'm in love... I ordered one in black ops! whoop whoop!! At least he thinks it comes in black. I said I wasn't going to buy one this year... I lied

Thank God!
CHIT My BOWTECH DESTROYER 350 is a sweet shootin badazz rig! I shot most bows on the market including the Z7 and the Destroyer was a better bow I thought. I had the 06 allegiance that was one of the best bows ever made. I had it stolen so I got a destroyer and if you have never shot one your missing out.

I shoot just about every bow that comes out on the market... I live about 5 miles from our pro shop.
I have a good idea about how different bows shoot.
As far as your bowtech being the best, the key words in your phase "You Thought" so don't try and pass you opinion off as fact.

So I cant say I think it was the best I shot but you can say it CANT BE?? WTH?? Who the heck are you to tell me that? I live by and have a friend that owns a bow shop I shoot and have shot almost every bow on the market also. So your better than thou attitude is not needed

I also shoot just about every bow that comes out. I was part owner in a bow shop that sold and still sells Mathews, Bowtech, and Hoyt... I was never loyal to any company. I would shoot all the new ones and buy whatever I could shoot best. The last two years just happened to be Mathews. Before that I shot Bowtech...

just sayin...

I still can't tell you anything about that Angler, so don't ask... Dough!!!

Im the same way. IM NOT loyal to any maker. I PERSONALLY ( make sure you get that part before ALLOUT decides to butt in) thought the Destroyer felt better and shot better than the Z7 some agree and some dont but the HOMERS always fight about it. EVERY BOW feels different to everyone. Heck I love some of the DARTON bows but most people dont even know about them.
