no boat at the moment, had to sell it over the winter. (looking at a nice 16ft boat for $300 right now)
that particular carp tipped the scales at 66lbs when i weighed it the next day around 3pm...Game Warden that was with me (to document the fish) said if i would have weighed it the evening i shot it, then it probably would have been pushing over 75lbs...making it a potential state record..right now it's a pending Lake record(haven't heard from the warden, idk whats going on)
Couple days after i shot that one, i shot a 6.5ft LongNose Gar, couldn't get that dude in the boat for anything...too slick and too wound up...it was WILD...so i finally just twisted my arrow and released him(don't worry he's still around, seen one the other day that was a little over 6.5ft that had a scar in the same place i shot mine...so i'm pretty sure it's the same fish..and i shot him almost a year ago)...next day i learned that he would have DEMOLISHED the current State Record (has to be bigger than the state record in Rod and Line...which is a little over 5ft)
I plan to shatter the state record in Grass Carp, Common Carp, and LongNose gar this summer. i can promise you guys i WILL have a state record size fish this summer, we've seen several Grass carp about a foot longer than the one in the above picture, so it should be just a matter of getting good penetration on one.
