I know my problem when I was shooting a spinner was my choice of line. It ate up my reel super quick. Like a lot of guys said take the top off where you can see the catch pins and make sure they are working as they should you should notice there will be some grit and grime in the lubrication. Go ahead while you have it apart and give it a good cleaning and make sure you add some more lubrication to the parts and pins. Once I switched to fast flight I never really had the same issues but I still switched to a retriever having to buy a new reel at the beginning of each season just wasn't worth it to me IMO. My retriever has lasted going on 4 years without one issue. I shot better with my spinner but they both have their advantages IMO. Good luck man hope you get it fixed. I know how much of a pain in the @ss it can be having messed up equipment.
