It would probably work depending on how long and hard you run the troller but it might be a better idea to go with a DLS-27-40 or [2] DLS-45's to limit what the converter/s pull from the genny. Leave the converter voltage at the factory setting and it will recharge the battery when you are not hard into the troller.

 

We generally run about 50%-75%...would the dls45's keep the batteries hot?

Also, if we fish during the day with no genny running, can I just plug the converters into a wall outlet to charge the batteries before we go out that night?

More than likely.

Yep, as long as you leave them at the factory voltage setting.
