One of my friends from Tennessee was fishing with me this weekend with his son. We were seeing few fish & it was really slow....... his son put his bow in the bow holder & turned around in his chair.............next sound was Bang.....ploooop. I did not have to turn around to know what that meant.

I marked the approximate location. Any ideas on bow recovery in 10-12 ft of water. I was crossing the river to fish the other bank. My idea is to go back & retrace the route on the GPS with a couple of rope drags.

You idiot m colt

if you go in that water, let me give you an update of when i swam down once, dont touch much, snagged up hooks, lures and such on some 50 pound braid will keep you down there, i know from experience of seeing all of it on a dive, be careful and be safe brother

Good tip, and take a knife down with you

Had an uncle dump his bass boat somewhere around Springfield MO. After they got the boat up, spent 2 days w a snagging rod and he recovered 7 of 9 poles that were lost.
It's do-able. I don't have the patience personally. But I wouldn't feel bad about dropping the boy off with a snagging pole and a sack lunch!

Snagging treble. Hopefully it was a muddy flat or else you will snag every piece of timber down there. Make sure you bring a few hooks in case you break a few off on logs or garbage

Two methods I have used...both successful...
1) fishing rod with treble hook drug along bottom.
2) big magnet on a along rope.
Not much steel or magnetic on a bow, but might get lucky and get the tip on the arrow and pull up the bow by the line...

Well for me diving is not going to happen......too dangerous & cold for me!! One of my fishing friends (bass fishes) that is always bragging about his side imaging system & the detail it produces, wasn't near as confident when queried about bow recovery? Looks like a lot of patience & luck with grappling hook.
