**EDIT: just realized I screwed up the title of this thread**

Has anyone ever been cited or warned about operating a boat from the bow?

I'm thinking since operation would usually be at slow speed, it might not have ever presented an issue. But I know, at least here in Alabama, operating a vessel with passengers on the bow or above the gunnels is prohibited. For our purposes, fishing with a kicker isn't THAT much different than bass fishing with a troller, but again, just wondering if anyone has been ticketed or warned about fishing like this.

I am pretty sure that as long as the kicker motor or fan motor is your auxiliary motor and not primary engine then you are legal. Also I think that that law is referring to operating at or above planning speed. No one has ever said anything to me about it in NC, TN, SC, or VA

Never had any complaints in 15 states I've fished but then again only have run into COs in two states and one of those was at the launch.
