For those that were not at the last shoot this is the REVISED Edition of the PBA rules. Just changed some wording and added a Protest rules to help everything go a little smoother. Thanks to all that came out on saturday night.

Palmetto Bow fishing Rules Revised 2010

1) Follow and abide by all SCDNR rules and regulations. If you break a DNR rule you will be disqualified and you will forfeit your points and entry fee. If you are disqualified for any reason you will forfeit your points and your entry fee for that tournament.
2) CHEATING: Cheating will not be tolerated if found cheating you will suffer immediate disqualification. Your membership will be revoked and you will no longer be able to compete in a PBA event.
3) EQUIPTMENT: Only standard and accepted bow fishing equipment may be used in the tournaments. Dynamite, pellet guns, spear guns, cast net, gigs, or standard fishing gear cannot be used during the tournament.
4) BOATS: Must be put in at specified landing, NO TRAILERING
5) INSPECTIONS: Tournament officials reserve the right to board a boat at any time to inspect the rig. Possession of grass carp or game fish will result in disqualification.
6) SPORTSMANSHIP: All contestants must adhere to the basic rules of good sportsmanship. The use of vulgar language or physical aggression toward anyone else will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
7) DISTANCE: All boats must maintain a respectable distance between boats during the tournaments. If two boats touch or get to close this will result in disqualification.
8) SCALES: Have top 10 and biggest fish ready when at the scales.
9) ALCOHOL: Is Prohibited at all PBA events.
10) START: The tournaments will start after the tournament meeting which will be held at 7:30pm. All participants must attend! (Please be patient with this meeting sometimes it takes longer than others. Also we blast off when an official says). Weigh in is at 2:am unless stated otherwise by an official. You must stay in the staging area which will be the no wake zone at the landing before the start of the tournament.
11) WEIGH IN: The official cut off time for the weigh in is 2:am. You must be checked in with an official at the dock before 2:am or you will be deducted 1 lb. for every minute that you are late up to 15min. After 15 minutes you will be disqualified (this includes mechanical difficulty). Once you have checked in you cannot leave the no wake zone at the landing. The tournament is not over at 2:am. The tournament is over when we conclude by giving out the winnings and taking pictures. In the event of a tie you will weigh your 11th fish. Santee Cooper "Blues" you are limited to 2, 36"+ fish per boat. But follow the 36" rule.
*People that want to go help another boat that has had mechanical difficulties can do so after checking in with an official and leaving their fish at the landing with a teammate
12) BIG FISH POT: Please invest in a personal hand scale, have your biggest fish ready when at the scales to help speed up the process and make it fair for everyone. In the event of a tie teams will weigh their second biggest fish.
13) CANCELLATIONS: will be announced the day of the tournament before 12:01pm. Cancellations will be due to wind being greater than 15 mph. If on the day of the tournament the winds are greater before the tournament begins a nomination can be made and it can be voted on to either move the tournament to a different location or be postponed.
14) PROTEST: Before weigh in starts if there is a problem that needs to be addressed then you must get with an official before weigh in starts. You will have a short grace period of 20 minutes to protest a problem. You can call Carlos or Jamie on their cell phone to let us know your problem or get with us at the landing. If you tried to call us and did not speak to us then you must get with us at the landing. Problems will be taken care of before weigh in starts. If there is a problem then weigh in will be postponed until the problem is resolved. Non direct violations will be addressed in front of the members before weigh in and will be voted on by the members. A direct violation is immediate DQ.
15) POINTS: Points will be awarded for 1-last place. First gets 50, second 40, third 30, fourth 20, fifth 19 and so on until last place. Big fish gets 10 points. You must be a member and compete in three out of four tournaments to be eligible for the big money shoot. Your team will drop the lowest points, missed tournament or a DQ. There is only 1 drop. Big money shoot points count for the championship.

Please remember this club is young and growing. We must address new situations as they come up.

Thank You for Your Support of PBA.
