The only difference in the older Oneida bows is the weight really ... and how much do you want to spend? What poundage do you want to shoot? and are you willing to buy one broke down and rebuild it or do you want to buy one done? you can find a damn nice one on here... if your willing to pack it around.... any older one is sweet!

I love my black eagle, weighs next to nothing more than an osprey, especially once you do some mods to it. But if i had to get an older bow it would be a H 250 or Tomcat

i have two h250s my next bow will be a black eagle for sure. love onieda bows will never buy another brand of bow. and the weight issues should be no problem if your a man.

You may want to check out the "Lever Addiction" article in this past E-Journal. We covered a lot of your questions regarding differences. It does not get into the Black Eagle yet (to be covered in the next article), but if I were choosing out of all the bows covered and the BE (not including the Stealth or the Discovery, but sticking with the "traditional" oneida line-up), I'd be all over a BE if it was in my price range. You're looking at a lot more bow without much weight difference (if any) compared to the Osprey. I'd take one any day over the Osprey, but that's my opinion...

Well today I touched my first koolaid bow. A Strike Eagle. Holy crap that thing is HEAVY but all I have ever shot is a re-curve that the bow weights just over a pound. I picked up a Fishhawk also. Wasn't real impressed with it. I am going to have to get a really good deal on one or find someone to let me try theirs before I jump ship from what I have been using I guess.

Black Eagle IMHO is Oneidas best bow hands down,doubtful your gonna get one less than $400 though.If you can...do it!!

after reading that post. Can someone clarify are the 250s the only ones with magnesium risers?

Every Oneida bow produced before the Aeroforce (1992) has a magnesium riser. That includes H250, H500, Screaming Eagle, Strike Eagle, TomCat, and Phantom.

tomcat!and look for 50 percent let off. you can usually find them on craigs list for 50-100 bucks....it seems once a bowfisher get hold of it, the price inflates.

If your wife can hold a H250 all night then she must be a pretty good size girl. Those things weigh a ton.
