I HAD A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POINTS YESTERDAY, AND I EVEN STARTED SECOND GUESSING MYSELF. HAHA . JUST WANTED TO POST THIS CHART SO EVERY ONE COULD SEE HOW I GOT THE FINAL NUMBERS AFTER THE DROPS. I HAVE HIGHLIGHTED IN RED THE TWO LOWEST SCORING TOURNAMENTS FOR EACH TEAM. THESE ARE THE TWO SETS OF POINTS I DEDUCTED FROM THE FINAL SCORE. THE SWAP PARTNERS TOURNAMENT HAS FOUR SETS OF NUMBERS BUT IT STILL COUNTS AS ONE TOURNAMENT. WHEN CALCULATING THE DROPS WE DROP THE TWO LOWEST TOURNAMENTS, NOT JUST THE TWO LOWEST SCORES.

 

quick dumb question sir...did you and Dwayne both get Daniel's points for the partner swap...I didnt look close but figured you could clear it up without me having to do home work...Thanks and sorry

 

yes. we arranged that before the tournament that i would take one of dewaynes partners. he gave me daniel to use as my second shooter. at the time he didnt realize that he was giving up those points that daniel would earn. in the end me and tom and dewayne talked and figured it was fair to give him daniels points since he did bring him to the shoot and didnt realize what he volunteered for initially.. we didnt want anyone to feel cheated and it didnt really effect any places as far as points standings. any confusion was my fault as both of my partners backed out at the last minute and i had to borrow a partner at the shoot.

Nah its always been the total for each tournament. Believe me if would benefit me if it was like you talking. Haha I'm having to drop a 80 point tournament

 

Not enough fishers in the tournaments these days to make the points very interesting with only 5 boats the lowest you'd get would b 38 points total. Kinda hard to gain ground when it's like that. O well it's been a pretty good year overall

 

we always start out with 10 or so boats that say they are going to compete in the championship run, then by the third tournament we are usually down to only a handful that have shot all the tournaments and tried to compete for it.

i wish we could do something to boost attendance, but i dont know what to do. its like everyones excited about shooting tournaments early in the year, but after they shoot a few they just fade on out of site. and this year has been the worse due to the crappy conditions all year, even some of the normal teams are staying home.

I think weather and conditions had a lot to do with it this year. It just plain sucked almost every tournament.

 

same way everywhere....i think everyones all jacked in march and april...by end of may everyones about done

 

some of our best shooting is normally this time of year. most places see a big push of fish during the spawn but after that it peters off. our cats normally dont show up until august and stay until december. unfortunately for bowfishing, so does deer season.

 

thats what we always hear. :laugh:

 

Shoot i normally don't quit shooting til nov aka waterfowl season. People miss out in the late summer and fall months.

 

We shoot our bigger fish in the winter aka Dec - Feb. Maybe have a "zoot suit" shoot. if I can get my own boat built before next season I will shoot my first season with a bowfishing club.
